Sometimes AC is not suitable for testing components and assemblies for high voltage withstand. Our self-contained converter provides zero to 6kV max from a 0-30 VDC bench power supply (150mA) for easy testing of components that need high voltage withstand capability - from capacitors to opto-isolators and transformers and circuit boards.
The 6kV simulates the peak volts from a 3kV AC sine source - while lower voltages can be obtained by adjusting the bench power supply. An output for a 10Meg-ohm DVM allows accurate readings of the actual DC output and internal resistors give a fast discharge of the HVDC when the bench supply is turned down or off.
