Originally made as a general purpose DC load box, these rugged, portable (13kg) units are proving popular as battery dischargers for battery testing (user instructions provided) as well as test loads for DC power supplies, and as a general DC load in varied testing situations.
Heat generated is dispelled by four fans whose power is derived from the input DC (internal wide input range switchmode) and fan power varies according to heat sink temperature. Total current drawn/displayed includes fan power current.
A large red LED display shows amps to from 0.0 to 50.2 and can be read from many meters away, a simple knob allows the user to set the constant current.
Operation down to 7.5 volts with a nominal max of 60VDC for rated current (50A) and a 25.0 amp limit from 60V to 135V.
Basic model accuracy is +/- 1% of full scale. More accurate versions available (0.2%)
A model covering 7.5 - 140VDC and up to 100 amp may also be ordered.
